Motif 22 - 25 Motif Challenge

With only a few days left in 2015, I had to find a really small motif to quickly tat to complete my "15 in 2015" challenge on Craftree.  Luckily I found this cute flower motif by Jennifer Williams.  You can find the pattern under "Onion Ring Joins" on her website.  Click on the image to load the pdf file for the pattern.

Motif 19, 20 and 21 - 25 Motif Challenge

Happy New Year!  I can not believe we're nearly half way through January!  I spent the first week of January test tatting these 3 motifs for Elaine P Gan at Tatting Box on Facebook.  I am counting these as my Motif 19, 20 and 21 :).

From Left: Heart, Vinca and A Real Square

All 3 are fun and quick to tat up.  I will be tatting these again and maybe tatting them using 2 solid colours.  All 3 patterns are in Elaine's third tatting patterns eBook and available for purchase in her Tatting Box Craftsy store :).

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).

Cheers,
Jenn :).

Handmade Card Exchange

I recently participated in a Handmade Card Exchange.  You have to send a handmade card and a postcard/photo of your area.  Having never made a card before, I thought I better keep mine as simple as possible.

For the background, I found this perfect mountains/night time scrap booking paper.  This was attached to the card using sticky dots.  Amazing stuff!  Only just discovered it and can see I will be using it more often in the future :).

For the star ornament, I used the Twinkle Twinkle pattern found on Le Blog de Frivole and attached it using a split pin (fastener) so it can be easily taken out to use.  The thread used to tat this star is micro C-Lon nylon cord in baby blue (sky blue) colour.  This thread does take some getting used to especially when tatting chains but I love how I do not have to block or stiffen the star once I'm done tatting.  Will definitely be tatting some snowflakes in this thread for our Christmas tree :).  Special thanks to Teri Dusenbury for suggesting the C-Lon thread :).

My girls fell in love with the card so it looks like I will be making two more for them :).

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

I can not believe that Christmas is in ~9 days!  Taking a break from the December Motif, I decided to try tat the Twinkle Twinkle pattern from Le Blog de Frivole.  First attempt turned out great.  Just need to weave in ends.

Second attempt not so great but still good :).  LOL I was watching cricket (The Ashes) and accidentally did 6 instead of 5!  Must pay attention with the next one I'm currently tatting :).

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).
