Starting another 25 Motif Challenge

I really enjoyed doing the 25 Motif Challenge and have decided to start another one.  I found it helped keep me motivated to do some tatting each month :).

For my first motif, I decided to tat the Happy Heart pattern which can be found on Le Blog de Frivole.  For this pattern, I finally figured out how to do the Catherine-Wheel Join!  Yay!  Not sure why I avoided learning until now!  I found these two Catherine-Wheel Join tutorials very helpful: Jane Eborall's and Marilee Rockley's tutorials.

Motif 19, 20 and 21 - 25 Motif Challenge

Happy New Year!  I can not believe we're nearly half way through January!  I spent the first week of January test tatting these 3 motifs for Elaine P Gan at Tatting Box on Facebook.  I am counting these as my Motif 19, 20 and 21 :).

From Left: Heart, Vinca and A Real Square

All 3 are fun and quick to tat up.  I will be tatting these again and maybe tatting them using 2 solid colours.  All 3 patterns are in Elaine's third tatting patterns eBook and available for purchase in her Tatting Box Craftsy store :).

Motif 8 - 25 Motif Challenge

The Heart's Desire pattern by Susan K. Fuller has been on my "To Tat List" since I saw it shared on Facebook.  I finally had some time and decided to tat it as my 8th Motif.  I tatted this using the pattern shared on Le Blog De Frivole (all the way at the bottom of the web page).

There are a few mistakes but hopefully they are not noticeable as I tatted the same mistake on both sides of the heart :).  Now to block and stiffen the motif for my 7yo daughter :).
