It took a few attempts but I was able to draw a diagram for a simple edging from Priscilla Tatting Book :).

I also had a go at drawing a Trefoil and drew a diagram for a Round Medallion from Priscilla Tatting Book. The diagram below still need picots but I will do that another day :).

Both diagrams just need numbers to be added in another layer and time for me to tat them :).
Inkscape is a vector graphic editor similar to Adobe Illustrator except it is free. You can download Inkscape at https://inkscape.org/en/.
That's it for now. Thanks for visiting my blog :).
Cheers,
Jenn :).
You are making very good progress, Jenn :-) All the diagrams so far look really good !
ReplyDeleteAs you progress in your learning, you will realise that you can easily discard some of the steps/bits or replace them with your own pathway to make it more comfortable & easy to remember.
Robin's tutorials are amazing & not only help directly, but also in self-exploration.
Thanks muskaan :). I'm having so much fun learning Inkscape :). I agree that Robin's tutorials are amazing! I don't think I would have gotten this far without them :). I am already keen to see what else Inkscape can do for other types of drawing i.e. non tatting diagrams :).
DeleteI totally endorse that .... I had abandoned Inkscape on my previous attempts, despite referring to tuts & practicing. It was a maze with just too much info, commands, options, ....
DeleteRobin broke it all down into neat little understandable & enjoyable packages :-)
And I can fully see you branching out into other drawings ... keep us posted :-D
Will do :).
DeleteAwesome! Your repeats are placed very neatly, are you moving the repeated sections by hand? Overall, I am surprised at how quickly you are working through these, and pleased as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin :). Yes I am moving my repeats by hand :). I am moving through the tutorials quickly as it's Easter long weekend and it's wet! Not much to do but learn Inkscape and do some tatting :). Your tutorials are awesome and I would not have gotten this far without them so thank you again for sharing them :).
