Welcome to my blog. My name is Jenn which is short for Jennifer. I am a mother of 3 children. I live in sunny Brisbane in Australia :).
My cousin taught me the basics for shuttle tatting 2 years ago. Due to our busy lives (young children), I took a break from tatting. Now that my youngest is 5 years old, I decided to relearn shuttle tatting. I am slowly learning each technique and hope to teach my 2 girls the basic of tatting this summer holidays :).
An experienced Tatter suggested I start a blog to document my progress as I learn shuttle tatting :). Hopefully I can post updates of my tatting once a week or at least once a month :).
Here is one of my WIP using #10 cotton crochet thread. I am tatting the December Motif from the Le Blog de Frivole but forgot to make the picots big enough for 2 beads for the next round. I will finish the motif without the beads then attempt the motif again with the right size picots :).
LOL I seem to be doing this a lot i.e. attempting a pattern several times before getting it right :). Hopefully the number of times I have to attempt a pattern will decrease as I improve :).
That's it for now. Thanks for visiting my blog :).
Cheers,
Jenn :).
You could try using just one bead on those picots - it might work!
ReplyDeleteHope to meet you one day, the Qld Tatters have been allocated the fourth Saturday of the month for our meetings in 2014 - that will take a bit of getting used to! I think the first one is January 25th.
Thanks Maureen for the suggestion :). I would have tried it except I already finished the motif and started on another one :).
DeleteThanks also for letting me know when QLD Tatters will meet up in 2014 :). Hope to visit at least once next year :).
That is a very beautiful start!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly :).
DeleteWelcome to the tatting blogosphere. I've been tatting for almost 4 years and blogging for about 6 months. Blogging helps motivate me to finish my work so I can post it on my blog. Otherwise, I end up with a pile of almost finished work (i.e. just need to sew in the ends). Your tatting looks beautiful. Hope to see more posts soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks mb duke :). I'm hoping this blog will keep me motivated too :).
DeleteWelcome to the blogging world, Jenn! I sure appreciate your visit to my blog. And am happy to meet you! I only quilt, but admire crafts of all sorts. Glad to see that tatting is alive and well. So sweet that you are sharing this talent with your daughters!
DeleteThanks Lorna for visiting this blog :). Sorry for the confusion! I do have another blog for quilting :). I only use this email address for commenting in blogspot quilting blogs :).
