Late Motif 25 - 25 Motif Challenge

Wow!  Where did the year go!  I can't believe Christmas is in 3 weeks!!!  My life have been so much more busier since I was offered a 3 days/week contract as a Teacher Aide at one of our local primary school.  At the moment my contract was extended until Day 8 of the new school year then I will find out my working hours for the term or year.  Hopefully I will have some time to tat this year :).

Since my last post, I managed to do some tatting.  I test tatted a gorgeous Square Doily for Robin Perfetti.  Sorry no pics yet as I still need to weave in ends.  The pattern was an easy and fun pattern to tat.  The Square Doily pattern is available with 6 other coaster patterns in her Tatted Coasters Pattern Pack from her Tatting by the Bay Etsy Shop.

I also managed to tat a motif by Elaine P Gan.  I think the name is called Lantana Motif.  I made several and added them to bangles to make tree ornaments.  These will be my 25th motif for 25 Motif Challenge 2015.  A bit late but better late than never :).

Christmas Tree Ornaments
Christmas Tree Ornament Card

The two red ornaments were sent to 2 lovely lace makers as part of a Christmas Card Exchange in Australia.  The other will be given to a lovely work friend who is retiring at the end of Term 4.

For 2017, I am hoping I will have more free time to do more tatting and bobbin lace making.  I also hope to start a new 25 Motif Challenge.

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).

Cheers,
Jenn :).

Motif 23 & 24 - 25 Motif Challenge

Wow!  Where has the time gone!  I had hoped to finish my 25 Motif Challenge in January so I could start another one.  Now I need to make sure I finish it before 12th April.  Because of the limited time, I have opted to tat some small motifs.

First motif is Jon Yusoff's dragonfly motif which can be found on her Tat-a-Renda blog.  This dragonfly was so easy and quick to tat up.  Perfect pattern to use up the leftover thread on your shuttle.  I really like how the bigger wings sat on top of the smaller ones.

The second motif is a simple downward picot flower which can be found on Ring of Tatters website here.  You will need to scroll down to "Downward Picots" for the simple pattern.  This was a fun and quick motif to tat up.  It also allowed me to use up the leftover thread from another shuttle.  I now have two free shuttles!

Of course I had to take a pic of both motifs and try to create a picture out of it :).

One more motif to go then I better get back to Robin Perfetti's Frauberger Doily pattern.  I am nearly finished with the doily :).

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).

Cheers,
Jenn :).

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!  May all your wishes and dreams come true in 2016 :).

To start 2016 off, I decided to tat Robin Perfetti's Frauberger Doily pattern.  You can find more information about the doily on Robin's Tatting by The Bay blog here and the computerise diagram here.

Round 1 of Robin Perfetti's Frauberger Doily

I really like Robin's colour scheme of white with variegated thread and how she does each round of this doily.  Hopefully she doesn't mind that I copied both :).  For mine, I am using Lizbeth #20 white thread and #115 Springtime.  I'm really enjoying tatting this pattern.  Quick and easy :).  Currently up to last round (round 3).

That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting my blog :).

Cheers,
Jenn :).
